AAFD Ready For Sacramento Governor’s Cup
September is here and that means that the Governor's Cup is right around the corner. Several AAFD cars will be heading to Sacramento Raceway on Saturday, September 25th to battle it out for an 8 car Chicago style show. Local racer Arnold Birky and his "Birky Bunch will be on hand, as well as 2010 March Meet winner Adam Sorokin in the Van Dyke Motorsports rail. Another Sacramento regular, Brendan Murry will be there in "Running Wild" along with Rick Williamson in the CBS Racing dragster. The Neal & White gang will make the long haul from San Diego, along the Bothelo Racing team coming from Carson City, Nevada. Mike McLennan will be driving Mike Fuller's Forever Young AA Fuel Dragster and Dave Smith will have a newly licensed Mike Irwin in his Nitro Fever dragster. First round action starts at 6 p.m., second round at 8 p.m. with the final round at 10 p.m.

This event will also include the Pro Slammers 7.60 class which will make it's debut at Sacramento Raceway and other categories which include 7.0 Pro Dragsters, Outlaw Pro Mods, Doorslammers, Pro Gas, Super 16 Dragsters and Altereds, Top Sportsmen and Drag Bikes capable of 200 mph. Next stop for the AAFD is the 19th Annual California Hot Rod Reunion at Auto Club Famoso Raceway on October 15th-17th. This will be the final race for the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Top Fuel Championship battle.
