AAFD Set to Invade Bowling Green

It's that time of year when AAFD teams head East to Beech Bend Raceway Park for the National Hot Rod Reunion. This year should be another great race for the history books, with one of the largest Top Fuel fields assembled, set to invade the property this weekend. This Father's Day weekend event is a must on any Hot Rodder or Racing Fan's list of places to be. Beech Bend Raceway Park has a way of transporting you back to the 1960's with it's vintage look and Southern charm.


Top Fuel entry's at this years event include 2009 NHRR winner Troy Green in the brand new car of Frank Ousley from Illinios. Troy also took home the Top Fuel Champion Trophy in 2007. Brad Thompson, the 2008 NHRR winner, will return in the High Speed Motorsports Top Fuel entry. The HSMS team has dominated this event since it's inception with a collective 6 wins in the past 8 years. Let's see if they can do it again. Denver Schutz will be back after a Runner-Up finish in 2009. Recent Indy winner Randy Bridges and newly licensed Keith "Roo Man" Burgan will be there. Heritage Series regulars Brendan Murry in the "Running Wild" dragster and Rick Rogers in Butch Blair’s “Fugowie” are set to compete. Others include Howard Haight in Nitrodiction from New York, Roger Lechtenberg in the "Orange Crate", Lincoln Hassel in Bob Bradley's SB Chevy dragster, Iowa’s Kevin Brewer, Tim Steed in the Mr. Boston car, Joe Krupinski, Ernest McClain’s Chevy powered entry and Tel Star's “Diamond” Dave Miller.


The 8th annual Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion, June 18-20, will be held at the historic Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, KY. Three-day credentials ($55 each) are available by calling 800/884-NHRA or online at http://store.nhra.com. One-day adult tickets will be available at the gate.
